I got a phone call today from a guy who said the truth about Michael Moore and John Kerry was coming out this week as a movie. When I asked how he got my unlisted number, he just kept talking. My caller ID said only ?private caller? and when I asked him to identify himself, he just kept talking. It really pisses me off to get a tape recorded political message on my private line. If you want to stand on a street corner with a big sign, go right ahead. If you want to pay the media to spout your views ? fine. I don?t even care if you pay someone with limited integrity to write a book, but when you invade my privacy, you get me fired up.

John Carman is a law enforcement professional who has consistently done the right thing. After graduating from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Washington, D.C., he joined the Secret Service in 1974 with TOP SECRET clearance and spent the next three years protecting the tumultuous White Houses of Presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter and their families. In 1978 he moved west to his native San Diego and served as a police officer for five years, then in 1983 he joined the US Customs Service.

SWAT Officer Steve Peach was trained to subdue armed suspects and place himself at risk in dangerous situations. Last December, Officer Peach sent a letter to the ACLU unlike any other they'd ever received. Peach complained that after 11 years of commendation filled service, he was being terminated by his employer, the San Bernardino Police Department.
